Parker Goes to the Beach

On Saturday the weather was PERFECT so we thought we'd take the Man to the beach. It had been awhile since we'd been there, so we wanted to see how he'd react to the sand. I thought for sure he wouldn't like it because he can't stand to be on grass, but he loved it! It wasn't long after I set him on the towel, that he crawled off to explore.

He loved to pick up seaweed and rocks...

and then eat them.

This is our favorite picture of the day. Sam and I crack up every time we see it. Faceplant!

Easter '09

Last weekend we drove up to St. George to celebrate Easter with Sam's family. (I'm pretty sure we're the only people who move to San Diego, and then constantly travel to other places. Don't most people vacation here?) Sam's mom's side of the family always gathers there Easter weekend so there were a lot of people in town; even all of Sam's siblings made it (except our new brother-in-law Justin)!

We had a lot of fun hanging out, playing cards, going to the St. George Arts Festival, and eating (of course)! I think I had Cafe Rio four times. Don't judge me. Annie and Meg missed the Easter "egg" hunt on Friday with all the kids, so Sarah hosted a private hunt for the Schmidt siblings. Things got a little intense. The "hunts" in St. George consist of the adults throwing candy on the ground and the kids running around filling up their bags as fast as possible. It's pretty entertaining, but even more so when all the participants are 16 or older.

McKay takes the early lead.

Parker got in on the action. Pull up your pants Stafford.

On Saturday the girls went wedding dress shopping with Annie (she's getting married in June). It was so fun to watch a little fashion show, and she ended up finding one!

Annie got engaged in March to a cute boy, McKay, who she's known since she lived in Massachusetts. Here's a picture of the happy couple.

We had lots of fun in St. George, but are SOOO glad to be home enjoying this heat wave!

A Texan Wedding, Part 2

Drew and Rachel tied the knot on Saturday, March 28th in the Dallas Temple. The ceremony was lovely, and Rachel looked beautiful! Everything went perfectly, except it was like 40° and WINDY outside. So pictures were kind of a drag.

Grandma and Grandpa Best trying to find some sun. It was their 50th anniversary that day too!

I thought this was pretty funny. The first is from Drew's wedding, the second is from mine. Apparently Molly is always the center of attention!

Despite the weather it was a great day. We love Rachel and are so excited to have her in the family!

A Texan Wedding

We flew to Texas last month to celebrate Drew & Rachel's wedding! I can't believe my little bro is a married man. The weekend kicked off with a BBQ at Randy White's. I don't think there's anything better than Texas barbeque. Yummy!
