Parker's New Trick

Parker found his voice this past week and we love hearing him "talk". He's such a cutie. He's also started to smile on purpose. He usually just smiles with one side of his mouth, it's adorable.

Parker's also adjusting very well to San Diego. He LOVES to be outside, so we've been going on walks everyday. He's also gone right back to sleeping through the night, so I'm feeling great too! Here's a couple videos of the little man!!!

One Month

Parker turned one month old on Friday! We can't believe how fast time is flying by. We learned at his one month check-up that he definitely isn't having any problems eating. He already weighs 10 1/2 pounds and is almost 23 inches long.

He's such a great baby and he makes us laugh everyday. He hardly ever cries, but he grunts constantly. I call him Sam Jr. because he looks so much like his daddy. We love him and can't imagine life without him! Here are a couple more pictures from his first month!

Parker Ellis Schmidt

I know this announcement is a bit late, but he's finally here! Parker was born May 6th at 4:44 p.m. He weighed 7 pounds 12 ounces and was 20 inches long. He is absolutely perfect. He's three weeks old today and is an AMAZING sleeper. Last night he slept for more than 5 hours! He's already getting big, and he gets cuter everyday. Here are lots of pics of the little guy!

I don't know nothin' about birthin' no babies

Imagine me doing this twice...

After two failed inductions we decided to call it quits and wait and see if he'll come on his own. We gave it another go this past Monday, but the same thing happened. I was hooked up to Pitocin all day and never went into labor. Apparently this baby is not ready to be born! The hardest part is that Sam's parents arrived here Monday, my mom was planning on going to New York next Monday, and Sam was supposed to start his new job in California on Tuesday. So planning wise it's been very inconvenient, but he's healthy and I'm healthy, so we're very grateful for that.

We will let you know when this happens for real!

Baby? What baby?

Well...it's 3:00 here in Texas and still no sign of this little guy. I've been hooked up to an IV since 5:00 am, trying to get things going, but with no luck yet! So a couple more hours of this and if nothing happens we'll try again in a few days. Anyway, it's definitely disappointing; especially when they called you a "failed induction", but oh well! He'll get here eventually.

Sam's been such a trooper hanging out with me in the hospital all night and day (even if he is eating Cheetos and peanut butter M&Ms in front of me)! Hopefully there will be good news soon!

Big News

Sam got a new job in California! It's actually pretty much the same job, just in a new (warmer) place. But because of the timing of it all I'm going to Texas with my family to have the baby. So I get to live at home until he comes, and for a couple months after until Sam gets things settled in California. We just got the offer last Thursday so things happened really quickly!! I actually arrived in Texas today. It was weird leaving State College so suddenly and it was very sad leaving our friends out there, but we're also excited for this new change. Maybe now that we live in a cool place, people will come visit us! I can't wait to call this home!
